Bath Scene Storyboards - update

Remember that project to do film storyboards for Jaqen’s bath scene, which never made it to HBO’s adaptation of Game of Thrones? Well, I got all the drawings finished. Now for a little color, explanations, and getting Tumblr to work with 50 images all in succession. (suggestions welcome)

My Mother is Brienne and that’s why She’s Awesome

I’m just gonna do a quick shout-out to my mom here. Why? Because I am an awesome son like that, and your nerdery needs to know about her.

This seems like really strange sexual roleplay, doesn’t it.

She would make much better time on her own, Arya knew, but she could not leave them. They were her pack, her friends, the only living friends that remained to her, and if not for her they would still be safe at Harrenhal, Gendry sweating at his forge and Hot Pie in the kitchens.~Arya, A Storm of Swords~

Any one else really happy about how they’re putting into this season all the little details that were important and left out in the last season (and that we all complained about?)

Jaqen trying to teach Arya to go after the people at the top

Hope for a bath scene with Jaqen’s next incarnation?

Irony

Real-life irony, Game of Thrones edition:

I saw a man with dwarfism begging for coins across from where the Tyrion poster used to be in the Times Square subway station.

I feel really bad about mentioning this, but…seriously. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen anyone with dwarfism pan-handling (I assumed it would happen someday), and for it to happen a week after the posters go down….

Did he see them, and find a kinship in them? Is it a sacred site for him now, but which he couldn’t bring himself to while they were there, lest he be easily and readily ridiculed? Or is it simply that the world, today, is being that ironic?

THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!

Oh my god. It’s Lion-o.

In NYC’s famous Times Square subway station, there is a half-mile corridor underground between the 8th Ave (A,C,E-blue) and 7th Ave (1,2,3,N,Q,R,7) lines.

The corridor is about 4 people wide, with a 7 foot ceiling. All along one side is a set of five-foot-tall poster display cases.  Since 1 March 2013, HBO’s Game of Thrones posters have filled the hall. Needless to say, my commute gets a whole lot cooler, and a whole lot geekier, when I walk through this hallway. The Theme song on my Ipod, and one of the doorstop-size books in-hand, I walk along, past beggars and bards and the common folk, and I wonder what absurdity Joffery will do this season, and how gloriously Tyrion might slap him.

And it seems someone in marketing really knows the show, based on the pairings set up in the hallway. Geekery, finally in the proud light (of the underground of) Times Square.

They say the pack is led by a monstrous she-wolf, a stalking shadow grim and grey and huge. They will tell you that she has been known to bring aurochs down all by herself, that no trap nor snare can hold her, that she fears neither steel nor fire, slays any wolf that tries to mount her, and devours no other flesh but man.
